October is a busy time for all of us in the K-12 channel; there are so many moving pieces. This year we have also had to deal with many worldly issues that have made the norm even more challenging. I really appreciate everyone’s efforts during these trying times.
As they say, “every day is commodity day!” So true. Whether you are working off of last year’s carryover, or this year’s diversion, hopefully you are getting full use of your PAL dollars.
As you work through this year’s menus, or planning for next year’s, many of our top manufacturers like Schwan’s Foodservice, Cargill, and McCain have great commodity calculators for you use. Please take full advantage of these tools. We find that many schools don’t use these tools, and they either end up short or even long on their diversions.
